Last February I had the great pleasure to capture Cracking-Up the Capital Improv Games with host Colin Mochrie. It was the second time I had the pleasure of capturing him performing, and what a treat that is. Colin is both charming and funny and can pull the funniest things out of a simple sentence. I truly am in awe of such talent and look forward to capturing it again this year with host, Patrick McKenna. Patrick was one of the judges last year and it will be fantastic to see him perform this year. Once again teams from uOttawa and Carleton University will be competing against each other in an evening of improv and one team will take home the Bucky The Beaver Improv Games Trophy.
Cracking -Up the Capital Comedy Festival runs from February 5th – February 8th, 2014 and offers something different each night that promises to be funny and chalk full of Canadian talent. Opening night is CBC Radio’s Laugh Out Loud, then we have Improv Games with Patrick McKenna on Thursday, Women of Comedy: Intimate and Interactive with Mary Walsh on Friday, and the Festival Finale on Saturday, February 8th with a special appearance by Rick Mercer. WOW! So many great events to choose from and such amazing talent to be seen. The Festival is not only great to attend for fun, but it was started in support of mental health and continues to be a huge supporter. If you are looking for something fun to do to beat the winter blahs, grab a ticket before it is sold out and you will be sure to have a few laughs and support a great cause at the same time.
