I was contacted late last Summer to photograph the Spring wedding of Monica and John. As we were winding up one of my favorite seasons and heading into Winter, we decided that we should wait for Spring for the Engagement session, since all of us already had a very busy Fall planned with school, training and work. And I am so happy we waited. We had such a beautiful day, even if it was a tad bit chilly. They sun was out and shining on us and we had lots of fun traipsing through the Market.
John is in the Military so we decided to start out at the National Peace Keeping Monument. A lovely spot to photograph as well as reflect. This shoot was all about them and the fact that their wedding is just a few short weeks away now. I find that when you ask the Groom -to-be if they are excited about the upcoming wedding, most of the time, they play it down even if you can see the excitement in their eyes. Not John, he was right there declaring how excited he was to marry Monica, a man very much in love.
The plans are all coming together nicely, Monica and I have met a few times now and I have to say that she is one of the calmest Brides-to-be that I have ever met. I think it is safe to say that Monica and John are very well matched and I am looking forward to their Wedding Day very much.
As we were walking through the market, I kept looking for the perfect patio to borrow. In my mind I could see Monica and John sitting at a patio chatting and having a lovely time together. We chose the Heart & Crown, mostly because it was easily accessible. They were talking and laughing and I was far away from them getting some fabulous shots. After we were finished there was a little bit of a debate going on. Was this where they first met? or was it further down the street? Monica was sure that it was Heart & Crown, John not so much. But as the details unraveled it would appear that Monica was right and they did indeed meet outside the Heart & Crown, not far from where they were sitting on the patio. John was quick to admit that Monica was indeed right, once the details were all remembered. I was so thrilled that we happened to pick the spot that they first met for part of our shoot, it brought out some smiles and stories and is now documented for them and will now always be remembered.
Monica and John, thank you for choosing me to be your Wedding Photographer, it is an honor for me and I look forward to capturing your day and all of its details for you both.
