Generations Sessions – Ottawa Portrait Photographer

Sometimes we wait for the special moments to photograph family members all together, I am here to tell you to do it. Take that time together to capture as many generations as possible so you may treasure those images for years to come.

I was contacted last year by this fabulous family. They don’t live in the same city year round, but knew they were going to be together this summer for a few weeks and wanted to be sure to have photographs to treasure of the newest and oldest family members. Four generations together in one photograph, how wonderful is that?

It was a wonderful drive up to Val des Monts, Québec to create these stunning images at the family home. We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful backdrop, right on the water, gorgeous trees and a very spunky Great Grandmother. I had to brush up on my French language skills a wee bit, but that is okay, it was a good reminder that I should practice my directing in french and learn some of my photographic sayings as well. You really take for granted the words you use in one language don’t always compute to another one. It was lots of fun, great laughter all around and we have some amazing images from the day.

It only took a little bit of planning and a gorgeous summer day for us to manage to have some great moments with Great Grandma, Grandma, Mom and Baby. We even added in some with Grandfather and Godfather, a special time in their lives as a family.  Photographs that will be treasured for years to come.

Take the time this year, to book a generations session for you and your family, it truly is worth the effort of planning ahead and having a photographer to capture you all together. Outside or inside, it really won’t make a difference where you are, just that you are together.
